Pelvic and Breast Exams

Pelvic and breast exams are important because they’re basically like preventative maintenance for your body. They check to make sure that everything is healthy and functioning accordingly, and they can also help us detect possible warning signs that may need further investigation. A pelvic exam can help us detect signs of certain health conditions, including:

• Sexually transmitted infections
• Fibroids
• Early cancer detection
• Ovarian cysts
• Other vaginal problems

Breast exams are an essential part of women’s health. These exams help us detect the early signs of breast cancer, which is much easier to treat when spotted early. We’ll check both breasts to make sure the tissues are healthy, and that there are no warning signs that require additional examination. Pap Smears

Pap smears are another important test that helps us check for cervical cancer. During this exam, we’ll collect a small sample of cells from your cervix, which will then be sent to a lab for testing to make sure that all your cells are healthy. If you receive abnormal results, we’ll discuss them with you and provide you with all the information necessary regarding what your next steps should be.
